What to bring?

Sunscreen Lunch & Snacks Additional Beverages Sunglasses Sun Hat Appropriate clothing based upon the weather- please note it can be a lot hotter or colder on the water than on land. We recommend bringing clothes for extremes even if you don’t think that you will need it.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 24 hours before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later or fail to show up, you’ll forfeit 100% of what you’ve paid. If canceled due to weather, its always refunded. Please see our policy page for more information.

What Type of Fishing techniques can I learn/try??

What Type of Bait is used?

For Inshore we mainly use live “white baits” in the summer. These are also called shiners or green backs. Technically they are a scaled sardine. In the winter we typically use live shrimp. For offshore we use frozen baits, live pinfish, and/or larger live baits that we catch on the way out with a sabiki rig. This just all depends on the trip and the targeted species. For all types of fishing we also offer a selection of lures for more advanced anglers.

How many people are allowed per trip?

This is dependent on the boat and type of trip. We can also put together multiple boats for larger trips. We recommend to call, text, or email for more information. 941-500-3460 kyle@motheroceancharters.com

What water toys are available?

We have a wide selection of water toys for the sandbar and we are constantly adding to it. As it is hard to have everything on board on all trips we recommend to call, text, or email if there are specific toys you would like to have on your charter. 941-500-3460 kyle@motheroceancharters.com

Can we change the trip from what we booked?

Yes! That is the Mother Ocean “adventure your way” policy. Please note that it is sometimes difficult to change boats last minute but we can take the fishing boat to the sandbar or the pontoon boat fishing on the flats. We will always do our best to accommodate any changes you would like to make and work hard to make a memorable and fun experience.

Do you offer spearfishing trips?

Yes we do. We can offer freedive spearfishing with equipment provided or you can bring your own. As of now we are not offering any scuba diving trips. Please contact us ahead of time if you would like to do spearfishing on your trip. Depth ranges are from 30-60′. You will need to be capable of reaching these depths on a single breath.
